DAYTONA BEACH, Florida -- With memories of the 2003 season fading and the start of the 2003 European Challenge Series only two weeks away, it's time to take a look at what's in store for the fans in 2003.
With several of last years drivers committed to other series within ESCORS, the highest placed driver from last season is Stijn Claessens, who finished in 10th. With only 4 other top 20 finishers (Mike Hogg 12th, Sergey Frolov 13th, Victor van Eck 16th, Martijn Raaijmakers 17th) as confirmed starters, it leaves the way open to both those and other lesser known drivers to take the division's top honours.
Team changes abound: Mike Hogg is now running in his own team, Team Ecosse, and the famous Pro-Eco Motorsports team is making its presence felt with four driver (Sakari Aaltonen, Sharon Cullen, Lee Ward and Mats Gustavsson). Shock news was that Simon Wareham of Infinity Motorsports was unable to secure a sponsor and has had to withdraw. This has meant that Racing Team Marrs' driver, Marcel Offermans, has unexpectedly received a place in the 2003 line up.
The upcoming European Challenge Series looks to be a good one in the making for all race fans. Watch this space for more.

hoenix, Arizona - With only one week to go to the opening race of the 2003 European Challenge Series season, the hotels are already filling up with race fans eager to get their fix of some of the best racing in the world after their long winter layoff. What will be in store for them? Excitement for sure!
With so many unknowns in the field, no one is sure what to expect. Jurgen Buchner is the highest placed finisher (18th) from last year to be entered in this year's race. Other drivers who raced in the ESCORS Winter Heat last season and have returned for more this year are: Stijn Claessens (19th), Mike Hogg (21st), Martijn Raaijmakers (24th), Manos Kasapis (26th) and Stephane Dirand (29th). So it can be seen the race is wide open.
Once piece of bad news heard here in Phoenix, is that Paolo Ferrari will not make the first two races of the season due to personal commitments. The No. 7, Team Seven, Pontiac will be driven by his teammate, Danilo Piazza, in the inaugural 2003 race at Phoenix.
